This is one of the 3 places in the world where you can track and see mountain gorillas. Bwindi Forest Uganda, Volcanoes National Park Rwanda and the Virunga National Park in D. R. Congo.

This Fly-in express African safari helps avoid the odious journey of driving from Entebbe (the only Uganda International Airport) to Bwindi which usually takes about 8-9 hours, and instead fly approximately 2 hours to the Gorilla habitat.

Overview of the 3 days gorilla safari trek in Uganda

On this 3 Day Uganda Gorilla Safari (Fly-in Express) trip, you’ll be transferred to Entebbe Airport for your local chartered flight from Entebbe to Kihihi at about 7:00 am. At Kihihi Airport, a our driver in a 4×4 safari truck/van will transfer you to your gorilla lodge where you’ll check in and relax.

Take in the fresh forest air and green sights and maybe choose to take a walk around the African villages and communities of the natives that inhabit the surroundings of the gorilla park.

The next day the actual gorilla trekking safari will will start from the park headquarters after a briefing at at exactly 08:00. You’ll be escorted with 7 others by a guide and an armed ranger into the jungle, hiking, trekking, jumping streams and breaking shrubs till you find your designated gorilla family, with which you’ll spend and hour with.

Get back to the lodge and opt in for activities around the park or relax, chat away and meditate about your experience. The environment is quite perfect for a calm day far far away from home. The next day, you leave the park and fly back back to Entebbe for your onward flight.

Itenerary

Arrival for the gorilla tracking safari in Uganda

On arrival at the airport, you’ll meet and greet with our representative for logistics briefing before connecting with your flight to Bwindi impenetrable forest.

This tour is ideal for morning arrivals into Entebbe. If you flight comes in the afternoon hardly connecting with the local flights, you will be transferred to your booked hotel before the 3 Day Uganda Gorilla Safari (Fly-in Express) starts is not included in the quote but can be arranged for you.

Day 1: Local Flight, Entebbe to Kihihi – Bwindi Impenetrable NP

In time at Entebbe airport by 07:30, your flight to Kihihi airstrip in Kisoro will set off. Look out the window, for Uganda is one of the most beautiful country in the world seen from above.

You’ll definitely catch sight of the beautiful Rwenzori mountain ranges, tea plantations, numerous lakes and rivers and the magnificent Virunga Volcano mountains just before you land in Kisoro.

In Kisoro, you’ll be picked and driven through Kisoro town up-to your lodge just outside the Bwindi Impenetrable NP. Check-in, have lunch and relax or take a walk around the African villages around the park, your choice.

Day 2: Uganda Gorilla Trekking Safari experience in Bwindi

Today is your Uganda Gorilla Trekking Safari day. Wake up early morning and have you breakfast, get your packed lunch and get to the trailhead before 7:30 AM.

Gorilla trekking starts at 08:00 after a briefing at the park headquarters, you will hike through the dense steep forest searching for the gorillas depending on where they were seen making nests the previous evening.

The gorilla trekking can last 2-7 hours depending on how soon you find the gorillas, this is influenced by the location they stayed overnight. Trekking can be a tasking adventure, but coming to a facial closeup with these close relatives to human is a reward worthy to earn.

Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park is located in southwestern Uganda edge at the edge of the great east African Rift Valley. It is a home to over 400 species of mountain gorillas about half of the world’s population. Many of these are habituated in families that are daily visited by tourists. The forest is also a home to over 350 species of birds and 400 flora species.

Day 3: Fly Kihihi to Entebbe: End of the gorilla trekking tour in Uganda

The last day of your 3 days Uganda gorilla trekking safari starts with a drive to Kihihi Airstrip. Where you will board a return light weight flight to Entebbe.

On the flight from Kihihi to Entebbe you will be able to see several stunning scenery from above. Upon arriving Entebbe international airport check in for your onward flight back home or to the next destination.
