This African safari adventure visits the small but impressive Lake Mburo National Park, then drives 6 hours through the beautiful western countryside to the gorilla park, Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. From the jungle after gorilla tracking, you’ll then visit Queen Elizabeth National park for a savanna game drive adventure then end the Primates Adventure Safari with hike through Kibale Forest to see the chimpanzee troops.

On this 8 days Primate Adventure safari, you will engage in game drives, launch cruises, gorilla trekking, and chimpanzee tracking. This is an opportunity for you to see the big five including the tree climbing lions, trek chimps and gorillas with stunning scenery and visit the local communities to experience the culture and lifestyle of the local inhabitants.

Day 1: Arrival
Arrive Entebbe international airport, you will meet and greet with your 8 Day Primates Adventure Safari guide/driver, who will then transfer to your hotel for overnight.
Day 2: Entebbe to Lake Mburo National Park
The Primates Adventure Safari driver will pick you up from your hotel and drive westward with a stopover en-route at the equator arriving in time for lunch at the lodge before heading to Lake Mburo Rwonyo peninsular for an afternoon boat cruise.
The park is the smallest of Uganda’s protected savannah parks with lots of metamorphic rocks and home to over 350 species of birdlife, zebras and buffaloes are the faces of the game in this savannah land. Elands, Oribi Waterbucks, Hippos, Reedbucks, Topi and a Leopard can also be spotted on a lucky day. After a boat cruise time allowing you will go for an evening game drive in the park.

Day 3: Lake Mburo Park to Bwindi Gorilla Park
A short game drive early in the morning before starting the drive to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park with lunch en-route.
The Primates Adventure Safari drive will take you along a tarmac route and then a reasonable distance on a murram road some parts of the road are bumpy and while on the drive you will enjoy a true message of the African wilderness roads.
After check in at the lodge, you will have a well-earned rest contemplating on the gorilla trekking experience the following morning.

Day 4: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest
Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park is located in south-western Uganda edge at the edge of the great east African Rift Valley. It is a home to over 400 species of mountain gorillas about half of the world’s population. Many of these are habituated in families that are daily visited by tourists. The forest is also a home to over 350 species of birds and 400 flora species.
Gorilla trekking starts at 8am after a briefing at the park headquarters, you will trek through the dense steep forest searching for the gorillas depending on where they were seen making nests the previous evening.
The trekking can last 2-7 hours depending on how soon you find the Gorillas, this is influenced by the location they stayed overnight. Trekking can be a tasking primates adventure, but coming to a facial closeup with these close relatives to human is a reward worthy to earn

Day 5: Bwindi Gorilla Park to Queen Elizabeth National Park
Morning breakfast and a relaxed drive Northwards to Ishasha sector of Queen Elizabeth national park, a Primates Adventure Safari game drive searching for tree climbing lions and lunch en-route as you continue to the drive to Kikwamba sector of the park where you will spend overnight.
Ishasha sector of Queen Elizabeth Park is the most endowed with animal species including Impalas, Elands, Buffaloes, elephant, famous tree-climbing lions and depending on how lucky you are; you may also find a Leopard.

Day 6: Queen Elizabeth National Park
Morning game drives in the Kasenyi plains through to Katwe Kob mating grounds. Most of the animals you are likely to find here include impalas, sitatungas and lions when lucky enough.
Afternoon launch cruise on the Kazinga channel will give you great views of several games including Hippos, Buffaloes, elephants and birdlife that queen Elizabeth National Park has to offer, off the boat cruise and continue with and evening game drive in the park before returning to your Primates Adventure Safari lodge for an overnight.

Day 7: Queen Elizabeth National Park to Kibale Forest National Park
Morning drive to the chimp-land with a stopover by the crater lakes an hike to the top of the world, you will have an early lunch before heading to Kanyancu for an afternoon Chimpanzee tracking.
Kibale forest has over 1,450 individuals (Chimpanzees) protected within the park. At Kanyanchu, a community of chimpanzees has been habituated since 1991, allowing visitors an outstanding opportunity to Track these apes in their natural Habitat. Tracking starts at 7 am with a briefing at Kanyanchu park headquarter where you will be allocated rangers to take you to the forest. An advance team already in the forest keep tracking the chimps and communicates with your ranger on the radio call. Other tracking Schedules are in mid-morning at 11 am and the last is Afternoon at 2 pm, tracking can last for 2 to 4 hours depending on how far the chimps could be feeding.

Day 8: Kibale to Entebbe and Departure
Morning visit Bigodi swamp, this is a community project aimed at improving the livelihoods of the local people, a local guide will lead you on a developed 4.5km trail through the swamp for approximately 3 hours where you can find several bird species including the great blue Turraccos, Hornibils Kingfishers and also Black and White Colobus, Red Colobus, Red Tailed Monkey, Grey Cheeked Mangabey, Olive Baboon, L’hoest Monkey, Vervet Monkeys can be spotted.
A gentle Primates Adventure Safari drive through tea plantations and beautiful sceneries with a lunch stopover en-route arriving Entebbe late afternoon in time to check in for your flight back home

Flight from Kasese to Entebbe
After Bigodi swamp walks, transfer to Kasese Airstrip for a local lightweight flight to Entebbe international airport and connect with your international flight back home.
